Living in a bubble

Blogs, MP3 players, pod casting, cell phones, and laptops -- just how deep into your own digital navel can you stare and pick before you drop into it and loose face-to-face interaction.

The gadgets are smaller and faster. You can roll in, run in, ride in, and lounge in the bubble. These items have/are becoming part of our social ecosystem. While they are supposed to bring us together, they are isolating us from physical contact.

I find myself keeping touch by login in and submitting my daily news for friends and acquaintances. Is the cranium becoming a space helmet? I am my own DJ with a soundtrack to the world diving into my alternate reality rather than engage those around me. Soon all I will have left is coitus, want to nudge bubbles?

Swimming in a fish bowl
Sometimes I feel like a fish swimming around in a glass bowl. I have been experiencing the same old fears and drawing from the same old past.
